Taliban kill 141 people in Pakistan

Pakistan witnessed one of the bloodiest terrorist attacks in its history on Tuesday as seven Taliban fighters attacked a school in the northwestern city of Peshawar leaving 141 people dead (including 132 school students) and about 114 injured.

Eyewitnesses say the militants went from one classroom to another, shooting indiscriminately.

The nation has been thrown into mourning as leaders gather to discuss a possible response to the attacks. Meanwhile the Pakistani Taliban have issued a statement saying only the adult sons of military personnel and members of the military had been killed in the raid.

The group also warned civilians to stay away from security operatives or risk being killed alongside them. According to the terrorists, the action was taken as a revenge for ongoing airstrikes targeted against them.
