N. Korea calls Obama 'monkey', blasts US for 'The Interview' release

Few days after Sony Pictures Entertainment disregarded terrorist threats from North Korea and went ahead to release The Interview, a controversial movie about a fictional plot to kill its leader, Kim Jong-un, North Korea has expressed displeasure and condemned US President Barack Obama over the release of the film.

The National Defence Commission (NDC) headed by Kim blamed the US for shutting down the country's internet. It released a statement on Saturday denouncing the US for screening the "dishonest and reactionary movie hurting the dignity of the supreme leadership of the DPRK and agitating terrorism".

President Obama "is the chief culprit who forced the Sony Pictures Entertainment to indiscriminately distribute the movie", the statement noted describing the US President as one who "always goes reckless in words and deeds like a monkey in a tropical forest."
