Three bodies (not 40 as previously reported) have been recovered from the sea in the third day of a search for missing AirAsia Flight QZ8501, the Indonesian navy has revealed. Authorities spotted what they believe to be remains of passengers on a missing plane along with debris floating in the Java Sea off the Indonesian part of Borneo as they carried out their search for the missing aircraft.

Families of the passengers on board the aircraft were thrown into mourning as the news became public. The CEO of AirAsia, Tony Fernandes, took to twitter to sympathize with the families stating that "My heart is filled with sadness for all the families involved in QZ 8501. On behalf of AirAsia my condolences."

About 30 ships, 15 aircraft and seven helicopters from many different countries including Indonesia (leader), Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, South Korea, Thailand, China and France took part in the search and rescue operations.
The aircraft had 137 adult passengers, 17 children and one infant, along with two pilots and five crew members on board.
