ICC drop charges against Kenyatta
The International Criminal Court in Hague has dropped war crime charges levelled against Kenya's President, Uhuru Kenyatta, after the prosecution failed to provide enough evidence to pursue the case.
Mr. Kenyatta became the first sitting President to appear before the ICC after he was accused of inciting post election violence in 2007 that resulted in the death of more than 1000 people and rendered many homeless. He denied the charges and accused the Dutch-based court of engaging in political persecution.
Kenyatta has since taken to twitter to express his relief and excitement about the decision of the court.
