A governorship candidate may have been announced for the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogun State in the person of Gboyega Isiaka, but a faction believed to be loyal to a former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Oladimeji Bankole, remain adamant and have rejected that the result of the primaries.
The faction have maintained that the December 8th election that produced Gboyega Isiaka lacked merit and did not follow due process. They claim that other interested parties are not being carried along and are asking for the status quo to be maintained until an agreement is reached over a consensus candidate for the party.
