Okonjo-Iweala to present 2015 budget to NASS on Wednesday

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, will on Wednesday 17th December present the 2015 budget estimate to the National Assembly on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Dr. Okonjo-Iweala held a closed door meeting with the Speaker of the House of Representatives today after which she confirmed to journalists that the budget was ready to be presented tomorrow.

Economists and business analysts have already predicted that the economy will be affected by the fallen oil prices globally. There is therefore much anticipation to see how the federal government intends to adapt to the changes and increase the nation's revenue despite the fall in oil prices globally.

President Jonathan noted in his letter to the National Assembly that 'the uncertainty surrounding the global price of crude oil and its continuous fall has occasioned delays in both the submission of the final and budget estimates.'
