In a brief ceremony today, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, presented the 2015 budget estimates to both chambers of the National Assembly. She was accompanied by the Director General of the Budget Office and some other Ministers including Senator Bala Mohammed.
The budget figure is set in the region of 4.3 Trillion Naira. Dr. Okonjo-Iweala told journalists after the presentation that as part of the austerity measures taken in the face of reduction in oil prices globally, non-oil revenues were raised.
According to the Finance Minister, the estimates were made considering Nigeria to be a non-oil-producing country
