The Governor of Rivers State and factional Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, Rotimi Amaechi, has called on the people of Rivers to vote Dakuku Peterside as Governor of the State come 2015. He said this in the state capital, Port Harcourt where a mammoth crowd gathered to show support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial aspirant.
"The story all over Port Harcourt is 'Governor you have done well, show us your successor.' I have shown you my successor," Amaechi told the gathering.
Addressing the crowd of supporters, Peterside promised to run a transparent government, improve security and uphold the rule of law if elected into office. The APC candidate will battle with the former Minister of State for Education, Chief (Barr) Nyesom Wike to secure the votes of the Rivers electorate.
