APC picks Osibanjo as running mate to Buhari

After holding series of meetings, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has finally picked a former Attorney General of Lagos, Yemi Osinbajo, as his running mate to its Presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari.

Yemi Osinbajo, 55, is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, and a Professor of Commercial Law at the University of Lagos. He is married to the the grand daughter of Late Chief  Obafemi Awolowo.

The choice of Osinbajo, a cleric in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and the Chairman of the governing board of the Redeemer’s University, will boost the party's chances of securing more votes from the South West and the Christian community. His pick also ends months of speculation that the party would present a Muslim/Muslim ticket.
