Following the conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party's primaries for candidates aspiring for seats in the National Assembly, the Senate President, David Mark, and his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu, have both been returned unopposed in their respective senatorial districts.
Elsewhere, Senator James Manager has secured an overwhelming victory as he seeks to retain his seat for Delta South Senatorial District. Others who secured nomination include: Ben Bruce (Bayelsa), former Aviation Minister, Stella Oduah (Abia), Gov. Theodore Orji (Abia)
In Abia North Senatorial District, Senator Uche Chukwumerije lost the primaries. The election for Oshimili Local Government in Delta State was declared inconclusive.
