Tambuwal vs FG: Court adjourns case indefinitely
Justice Ahmed Mohammed of the Federal High Court in Abuja has adjourned the case filed by the Speaker of the House of Representatives against the Inspector General of Police and the Federal Government indefinitely. This is coming after three members of Kebbe Tambuwal Federal Constituency in Sokoto State filed a motion for a stay of proceedings. The members had taken their case to the Court of Appeal to challenge a previous ruling on the suit by a lower court disallowing them to join the suit as co-defendants.
Tambuwal approached the court to challenge the removal of his security aides and a plot to unseat him following his defection to the opposition party. The counsel to the defendants have however accused Tambuwal's camp of deliberately engaging in delay tactics to ensure that the case lasts until his tenure elapses.
