Supreme Court clears Jonathan to contest 2015 election
Nigeria's apex court has dismissed a case filed by a chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Umar Ardo, challenging the decision of the Court of Appeal which refused his application to be joined in the suit challenging President Goodluck Jonathan’s eligibility to contest next year's presidential elections.
Ruling on the case, the 7-man panel headed by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Mohammed Mahmud. noted that the appellant has no business joining in the case as no law stopped him from taking part in the party's convention.
