Buhari, APC in search for running mate

Following his landslide victory at the recently conducted APC Presidential primaries in Lagos, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is now in serious talks and consultation with the party on a possible candidate to fill the Vice Presidential slot should he emerge the country's president in 2015.

A few hours ago, there were rumours in the media that a factional Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum and Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Chibuike Ameachi, had been selected as running mate to the former Head of State. This rumour has however been debunked by the opposition party.

This however did not stop reactions from the incumbent President's camp. As rumours of the choice of Gov. Amaechi emerged, a presidential aide, Dr. Doyin Okupe, took to twitter and described it as a 'fatal error'.

Rotimi Amaechi and some of his colleagues in the Governors' Forum have been at loggerheads with the Presidency and the ruling party leading to his defection to the APC.
