Former Foreign Affairs Minister, Ashiru, dies in South Africa
A former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Olugbenga Ashiru, has died in a South African hospital were he was receiving treatment for a brain related illness.
President Goodluck Jonathan in a message released by his Special Assistant on Media, Dr. Reuben Abati, commiserated with the family of the deceased saying that the country owes the late Minister much gratitude for his key role in establishing mutual and beneficial relationships with other countries.
Senate President, David Mark, also condoled with the Ashiru family noting that Nigeria has lost a diplomat per excellence who contributed immensely in national development and promoting Nigeria's cultural heritage in the international community. He sympathised with the people of Ogun State and prayed God to grant his loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
