Ezekwesili hits at political class

Former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili, has slammed the political class in Nigeria, blaming them for the country's woes. She expressed this opinion at a summit organised by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former Education Minister told participants at the summit that what Nigerians need from their political leaders are a combination of 'competence, character and capacity'. No one of these qualities, she noted, can go without the other.

Ezekwesili appeared non-partisan as she had no soft words for the political elite. She noted that at present, there are no political parties in Nigeria but political platforms which politicians use to actualise their selfish ambitions. For her, we are yet to get real political parties that are driven by ideologies of nation-building.
