Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Victor Ochei has resigned. Many believe his decision to resign is in connection with his governorship ambitions ahead of the elections in 2015. Ochei, a member of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, will be hoping to clinch his party’s nomination as the people of Delta North agitate to occupy the highest executive position in Delta State for the first time since its creation in 1991.
Mr. Peter Onwusanya has been elected to take charge as Speaker of the House with immediate effect.
