NIS tragedy: FG orders fresh exercise, automatic employment for victims

Following the tragedy that marred last weekend’s recruitment exercise organized by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), President Jonathan has ordered for a fresh exercise to be conducted. This information was disclosed by the Minister of Information, Mr. Labaran Maku, who addressed State House correspondents after a meeting of the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday.

Mr. Maku also disclosed that the President has directed that three employment slots (one compulsorily for a lady) be reserved for the families of those who died during the stampede at the venues of the recruitment exercise conducted nationwide.

The President also directed that all those who sustained injuries and are currently hospitalised be given automatic employment in the service.
