G7 move to isolate Russia
At a summit on nuclear security held in the Hague, Netherlands, some leaders of the worlds most powerful economies, known as the G8, took measures to isolate Russia and impose further sanctions after it’s “illegal” take over of Crimea.
The world leaders in a hasty meeting convened by United States President, Barack Obama, decided to suspend Russia from the G8 and move the planned summit, earlier scheduled to hold in Sochi, to Brussels. Obama’s position was reaffirmed by British Prime Minister, David Cameron who noted that tougher sanctions could be on the way.
