Cabinet Shake-Up: Sports Minister dropped

President Jonathan has made yet another adjustment to his cabinet by dropping the Minister of Sports, Bolaji Abdullahi. Mr. Danagogo will take over from Abdullahi who has recently been involved with the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) in his home state.

Meanwhile, the President today also swore-in 11 ministers who were cleared last week by the Senate. Former National Security Adviser, Gen. Aliyu Gusau, is to take charge as Minister of Defence while Sen. Obanikoro has been appointed as the Minister of State in that Ministry. For the Ministry of Power, Mohammed Wakil becomes the Minister of State.

President Jonathan called on the new Ministers to 'bring value to whatever you have been asked to do'. He asked them to work hard and ensure they make innovations they will be proud of when they leave office.
