PDP unsuccessful in bid to lure OBJ back
Recent rumours suggests that the on-going efforts by the new leadership of the ruling People's Democratic Party to convince former President Olusegun Obasanjo to make a u-turn on his decision to stay away from the party’s activities have been futile.
It is believed that at the recent closed-door meeting between the former President and the new PDP National Chairman, Adamu Mu’azu on January 26, the latter insisted that President Jonathan must keep his alleged promise (made in 2011) that he would not to seek reelection in 2015.
A source from the Punch says that "Obasanjo told Mu’azu bluntly to address the issues he raised in his December 2, 2013 and January 7, 2014 letters to President Goodluck Jonathan and a former PDP National Chairman, Dr. Bamanga Tukur".
