Missing funds: We can't investigate NNPC - EFCC and ICPC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission have told a Senate Committee that they can't carry out an investigation on the NNPC.

Both anti-graft agencies appeared before the Committee to defend their budgetary allocations. After the Senate requested them to launch an investigation on the NNPC, Mr. Ibrahim Lamorde, the EFCC Chairman, said since the matter was currently before the senate, carrying out an investigation will amount to a duplication of functions.

The ICPC boss on his part, told the Senate Committee that the NNPC is too complicated to be investigated by his commission, noting that the job will require expects.
