Bama attacked again!

Borno State has witnessed another terrorist attack in Bama, a few kilometres from Maiduguri, the state capital. Several cars and buildings were set ablaze in the cause of the attack believed to have been carried out by Boko Haram.

This attack is coming just a day after the Senior Special Assistant to the President, Dr. Doyin Okupe, dismissed comments by the Borno State Governor that the insurgents are better armed and better motivated than the Nigerian Army. The President's publicist stated in clear terms that Gov. Shettima lacked the necessary expertise to categorise or classify the weapons in possession by the Army.

The Borno State Governor described Okupe's remarks as unfair and insensitive. Shettima said it is an irony that he (Okupe) didn't deem it necessary to sympathize with the people of Borno State after recent attacks but was quick to dismiss his (Shettima) claims in the name of doing his job.

Following today's attack on the North Eastern state, Governor Shettima returned to the state house for the second time in 48 hours to update President Jonathan on the development. He was however unable to confirm the exact number of casualties involved. The Governor said the army is 'doing their best' but refused to make any further comments.
