The Supreme Court of Nigeria today upheld the election of Kogi State Governor, Rtd Capt. Idris Wada. Alhaji Jibrin Echocho had filled a petition challenging Wada's election in 2011.
The apex court, in a unanimous judgment, dismissed Echocho's petition and backed the decision of the Court of Appeal to uphold the High Court’s judgment.
Alhaji Echocho had previously taken the case to the High Court but it dismissed the appeal for lack of jurisdiction on the matter.
