Chief of Staff to President Jonathan, Mike Oghiadohme tendered his resignation earlier today. Rumours have spread all over the media that his resignation may be due to his alleged involvement in the fraudulent dealings of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC).
However, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr Reuben Abati has dismissed the rumours saying that Oghiadohme's decision to resign was to pursue his political ambitions. The former Chief of Staff recently had a vote of no confidence passed on him by party leaders of his senatorial zone. They alleged that he had failed to use his position to bring positive development to his people.

Although no replacement has been announced, there are rumours that media mogul, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has been lined up as a possible successor to Oghiadome.
