Nigeria's House of Representatives is in the process of amending some 71 key sections of the constitution. The House Committee chaired by Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha, also disclosed that the amendments are subject to further legislation onthe floor of the house. They will be forwarded to the various State Houses of Assembly for their concurrence.
Some of the constitutional provisions facing review include: immunity clause, local government autonomy and independent candidacy.
