NUC denies allegation of favouritism in accreditation
The Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Julius Okojie, has denied the allegation by the House of Representatives that the Commission favours some universities that are willing to do its bidding for the accreditation of courses.
Prof. Okojie noted that the accreditation panel sent to universities is composed of professors from other universities that have an edge in the particular course in question. He stated that the only NUC staff that is involved in the process is the secretary who only documents the process and provides guidelines.
The NUC Secretary said the allegation made by the House of Representatives is an insult to the academia.
