Jonathan visits Obasanjo to settle misunderstanding

President Goodluck Jonathan held a meeting with Former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday at the latter's Hilltop residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The purpose of the meeting which started around 7pm and ended at about 9.15pm is believed to be connected to Jonathan’s re-election bid and the need to resolve the disagreement between the two. Senior members of the ruling party including governors accompanied the President.

The President made the stop at Obasanjo's residence after emerging from the Peoples Democratic Party presidential campaign at the MKO International Stadium in Abeokuta. Jonathan promised the crowd of supporters at the stadium that his administration would create eight million jobs if re-elected at the February 14 poll.

“We are out to create jobs. Our target is to create at least two million jobs every year. We are working with the private sector, including Tony Elumelu. When you hear Elumelu, you know we are talking about a serious investor,” the President said while addressing supporters at the PDP rally.
