Obanikoro canvasses support for Jonathan in Lagos

A former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro has called on the people of Lagos State and Nigerians in general to support the re-election bid of President Goodluck Jonathan noting that the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, General Mohammadu Buhari, is not the ideal man to lead Nigeria.

Obanikoro who contested the Peoples Democratic Party governorship primaries for Lagos told the people that Buhari had victimised and oppressed several of their respected leaders in the past including Jakande and Chief Bola Ige. He cautioned them against jeopardising Nigeria's democracy and ensure that the former Head of State is not given a shot to rule the country again.

According to him, President Jonathan has encouraged freedom of speech and does not discriminate against any tribe or region of the country in discharging his duties. Obanikoro noted that these virtues demonstrated by the President are lacking in the presidential candidate of the APC.
