Coalition of Concerned Lawyers fault Buhari's certificate

Addressing journalists today in Abuja, a group of legal practitioners, Coalition of Concerned Lawyers added their voices to challenge the authenticity of the West African School Certificate released by Government College, Katsina on behalf of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The group noted that there are some apparent discrepancies in the certificate released by the school that raise doubts over its originality. It also drew attention to the fact that there is an inconsistency in the name written on the document: 'Mohammed Buhari' and not 'Mohammadu Buhari'.

Speaking further, the leader of the group, Amaechi Nwaiwu (SAN), said 'we are firmly of the view that the Nigerian Police has the power to investigate, interrogate, and prosecute any person found to have committed forgery of a document or committed perjury.' He noted that Nigerian have the right to ensure that persons aspiring to lead them are duly qualified to do so.
