Saudi Arabia monarch, King Abdullah dies

Saudi Arabia's long serving monarch, King Abdullah, has died after a nine-year reign. The 90-year old was admitted on the 31st of December, 2014 after suffering from pneumonia. A funeral service will be held in his honour on Friday

Meanwhile, Abdullah's half brother, crowned Prince Salman, has been named as the new king. Concerns have already been raised over the health status of Salman, 79, considering that the former Defence Minister has previously suffered a stroke.
