We will conduct credible elections, Jonathan vows

At a ceremony to inaugurate his campaign organization in Abuja on Tuesday, President Goodluck Jonathan again reiterated his administration’s commitment to the conduct of a free, fair and credible election come February 2015. The President assured the Nigerians and the international community of a peaceful electoral process and called on his campaign team to ensure that his presidential campaign is issue-based

Also speaking at the ceremony, the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio, said that the All Progressives Congress has nothing to offer Nigeria. According to Akpabio, the election is “about darkness and light”.

Gov. Akpabio stressed that the present administration of President Jonathan deserved credit for the numerous developmental projects carried out all over the country. According to him, the government has built dams, the power sector has been greatly improved and the railways are functioning once again. He therefore asked Nigerians not to be deceived by the cheap propaganda of the APC and ensure that the President is reelected next month.
