PDP blames APC for attack on GEJ’s convoy

The Peoples Democratic Party has lashed out at the opposition party, the All Progressives Congress for violating the Abuja Accord recently signed by all presidential candidates for the February 2015 election.

Addressing newsmen on Wednesday, the Director of Media for the PDP Presidential Campaign Organization, Femi Fani Kayode, said the opposition party and its presidential candidate failed to control their supporters leading to the irresponsible violation of the pact by “a group of miscreants and vandals whose leader has proved to be incapable of keeping them in check…”

A group of thugs were reported to have attacked the convoy of President Goodluck Jonathan when he visited Katsina State for his presidential campaign, an act Fani Kayode described as a show of shame. The APC has however released a statement condemning the attack, and stating clearly that President Jonathan should be free to campaign anywhere in the country. The statement also said nothing justifies the action taken by the attackers
