Military repels Boko Haram attack on Maiduguri

Some members of the Boko Haram sect have been killed, and several others captured after the Nigerian Army repelled an attack on Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State on Sunday. The military recovered sophisticated weapons from the insurgents including a cobra armoured vehicle and machine guns. Three gulf cars loaded with explosives were destroyed as well.

Authorities are now carrying out patrol and surveillance, and 24-hour curfew has now been imposed on the troubled city as the military seeks to check the activities of terrorists.
