Armed Forces Remembrance Day: GEJ, others lay wreaths in honour of fallen heroes


President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday led other top government officials including Vice President Namadi Sambo, Senate President, David Mark and the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Mahmud Mohammed, to lay the ceremonial wreath as the nation marked the 2015 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.



The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal was not present at the ceremony. In his absence, the Deputy Speaker, Emeka Ihedioha, joined the President and other officials to lay the wreath in honour of Nigeria's fallen heroes.


The Minister of Defence, Gen Aliyu Gusau, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Senator Bala Mohammed, Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh, Chief of Army Staff, Lt.Gen Kenneth Minimah, Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin, and the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Adesola Amosu, Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, Chairman, Nigerian Legion, and the Dean of Diplomatic Corps, also took part in the wreath-laying ceremony.
