FG approves nine new private universities
The Federal Government has given approval for the establishment of nine new private universities across the country. Briefing journalists after the a meeting of the Federal Executive Council, the Minister of Aviation, Mr Osita Chidoka, listed the newly approved varsities as: Augustine University Iloran, Lagos State; Chrisland University, Owode, Ogun State; Christopher University, Mowe, Ogun State; Hallmark University, Ijebu Itele, Ogun State; Kings University, Odeomu, Osun State; Micheal and Cecilia Ibru University, Orode in Delta State; Mountain Top University, Makogi Oba in Ogun State; Ritman University, Ikot Ekpene, in Akwa Ibom State; and Summit University Offa in Kwara State.

Jonathan and Sambo have failed to make their academic qualification relevant - Fashola
The Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan and his Deputy, Namadi Sambo have failed to make their high academic qualifications reflect in the discharge of their duties. Speaking at the All Progressives Congress campaign rally in Ikorodu on Saturday, Fashola stressed that “we need someone who could address our challenges.”

Armed Forces Remembrance Day: GEJ, others lay wreaths in honour of fallen heroes
President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday led other top government officials including Vice President Namadi Sambo, Senate President, David Mark and the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Mahmud Mohammed, to lay the ceremonial wreath as the nation marked the 2015 Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

Insurgency: President Jonathan meets with service chiefs, others
President Goodluck Jonathan met with his service chiefs and various security personnel on Tuesday at the state house in Abuja. The meeting was also attended by Vice President Namadi Sambo, the National Security Adviser, Director General of the SSS, Inspector General of Police, Director General of the National Intelligence Agency, as well as governors of three troubled North Eastern states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.

Sambo flags off Enugu-Port-Harcourt-Enugu inter-city train service
Vice President, Namadi Sambo, was at Port Harcourt, Rivers State, today to flag off the Enugu-Port Harcourt-Enugu inter-city train service. Sambo noted that the project is another milestone in the transformation agenda of President Jonathan.

Presidency summons Inspector General of Police over NASS chaos

The idea of zoning the Presidency is rubbish - Shekarau
Former Kano State Governor, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau has described the clamour for the emergence of a President from the North in 2015 as rubbish.
The former Presidential Aspirant who spoke with State House correspondents after a meeting with Vice-President Namadi Sambo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja said he has never been in support of the idea of localising the Presidency to a particular region.
