UEFA president Michel Platini has revealed that former Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson would take on the post of coaching ambassador to European football's governing body.
The Frenchman who spoke after an executive meeting meeting in Switzerland on Friday explained that: "Sir Alex will be chairman of the forum of elite coaches that meet every year.
"He will also be a member of the technical study group of the Champions League and the European Championship."
Sir Alex has accepted the role saying it is "an honour and a privilege to accept this role as ambassador for UEFA."
