In a lawsuit filed earlier this week, two facebook users, Matthew Campbell and Michael Hurley claimed that the social networking site mines private messages for data that is then sold to third parties like advertisers, marketers and data aggregators.

Facebook, the world's biggest social networking has however responded saying the allegations are "without merit". "We will defend ourselves vigorously".
