Jack Bauer is back!

Fans of 24 will love this!

Barely four years after the events of season 8, 24: Live Another Day which will be set in London will make its debut in the summer of 2014 on Fox. The long awaited series will kick off on May 5 at 8 p.m. ET on Fox with a two-hour episode. It will move to its normal time slot of 9 p.m. ET the following week.

"'24' has always had such a global sensibility," according to Sutherland. "But to be able to tell this intense '24'-style story with the beauty of Europe's history and architecture as the backdrop is going to be fascinating. Hopefully, by the time you're finished watching an episode, you'll feel like you've been there...on the edge of your seat."

Evan Katz, a co-showrunner and executive producer also added, "We wanted the show's return to be an event, and part of that was putting Jack in a very different context. Four years ago, we left Jack a fugitive from justice and we're going to pick him up four years later in London."

More from zap2it:
In three and a half months, Jack Bauer will be back on TV when FOX debuts "24: Live Another Day."

Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub and the show's producers came to the TCA winter press tour Monday (Jan. 13) to talk about the show's return -- and they were not shy about sharing details. Here's what you can expect from the show, which premieres May 5:

Where's Jack? "Live Another Day" is set in London, four years after the events of "24's" last season. As he was then, Jack (Sutherland) is a fugitive, and the CIA -- in the form of an agent played by Yvonne Strahovski ("Chuck," "Dexter") -- is after him.

"What will come into play is a character [Strahovski] who is a CIA agent who's been on the hunt for Jack Bauer," executive producer Manny Coto says. "The show will open with that dynamic ... and in their minds Jack is a fugitive of high order."

Jack has a mission. "When Jack re-enters the story on his own terms, we will learn he has a mission. Whether it's a good mission or a dark mission, or he's fighting on the side of good, we don't know."

Chloe = Edward Snowden. Chloe O'Brian (Rajskub) has been "damaged" by her association with Jack, and when we meet her again, she and Jack will be adversaries. "At the very beginning of this show they're pitted against each other by virtue of a set of circumstances," Sutherland says. "That's a dynamic Mary Lynn and I get to play that's very exciting. It's also something that's going to evolve over the course of the show."
Executive producer Howard Gordon also notes that Chloe has left CTU and become part of the "free information movement." Think Edward Snowden and you're on the right track.

The Hellers are back. As previously announced, Kim Raver and William Devane are returning to the show as Jack's love interest, Audrey Heller, and her dad, James -- who, incidentally, is now the president of the United States.
