Mu’azu to replace Tukur as Chairman of PDP
Former Governor of Bauchi State, Adamu Mu’azu has emerged as the Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) replacing Dr. Bamanga Tukur who resigned last week following the internal crises that has been rocking the party.
The PDP Governors in a meeting with President Jonathan selected Mu'azu who was sworn in last week as Chairman of the National Pensions Commission. Vice President Namadi Sambo, Chairman of PDP Board of Trustees, Tony Anenih; and Senate President David Mark were also in attendance.
Mu'azu, 58, was governor of Bauchi from 1999 - 2003. He was unanimously selected to fill the vacant position after which he promised to reposition the party and strengthen it ahead of the general elections.
