The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has filed an application exparte requesting the court to order the arrest of the Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba for disregarding the order by the court to maintain status quo in his legal suit against the police.
Mr. Tambuwal told to the court that he was prevented from gaining entrance to the legislative chambers and the Police boss refused to recognise him as the Speaker of the House of Representatives when he (Abba) appeared before the House Committee on Police Affairs.
The Court however asked Tambuwal to hand the Inspector General a notice and serve him all the court processes. Wednesday next week has been fixed for the court to reconvene on the matter.
