Explosion rocks Potiskum bus park as female suicide bomber Kills 15
No fewer than 15 people have been confirmed dead and 53 others injured after a female suicide bomber detonated a bomb at the Tashar Dan-Borno Motor Park in Potiskum town, Yobe State, North-East, Nigeria.
According to reports in the media, the female suicide bomber alighted from a keke (tricycle) opposite the park before rushing towards a loaded bus marked Kano XA 592 GBT, about to convey passengers to Kano State, to detonate the explosive device.
Although no group has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack, members of the Boko Haram sect are believed to be behind it. This is coming in the wake of key victories recorded by Nigerian troops in their efforts to stamp out the insurgents and regain lost territories in the troubled North Eastern region.
