AFCON 2015 final: Cote d'Ivoire defeat Ghana on penalties

The Elephants of Cote d'Ivoire have emerged as the new Champions of Africa after beating the Black Stars of Ghana 9-8 on penalties. Both sides failed to find the back of the net after a thrilling 120 minutes of football in Equatorial Guinea forcing the game to be decided from the penalty spot.

Cote d'Ivoire's goalkeeper, Boubacar Barry was the hero as he saved the penalty kick by Ghana's shot stopper, Brimah Razak, before stepping up to score the decisive kick that earned the Elephants their second AFCON title since 1992 when they defeated the same opponent in a similar scenario.

Ghana's defeat comes as a nightmare for Coach Avram Grant who has led various teams to the final of different competitions without securing a single trophy.
