Election postponement was masterminded by Jonathan – Obasanjo

Nigeria's Ex-President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has accused President Goodluck Jonathan of masterminding the postponement of the general elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in a grand plan to win by all means.

While speaking with journalists in Abeokuta, Ogun State on Saturday, Chief Obasanjo also reacted to rumours of the planned removal of  Professor Attairu Jega as Chairman of INEC. He said this move will only heighten the tension in the polity and bring the credibility of the election to question.$

The former President who recently endorsed the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Mohammadu Buhari, expressed doubts that the government could record much success in the fight against Boko Haram insurgents during this six-week period after failing to stamp out the terrorist group in five years.
