Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo, today confirmed that he has ended his relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk. Rumours of their break up began after Shayk was absent from the Ballon d’Or ceremony in Zurich last week where the Portuguese Captain was handed the World Footballer of the Year award.
Confirming the reports, Ronaldo stated that “After dating for five years, my relationship with Irina Shayk has come to an end,” the three-time Ballon d’Or winner said in a written statement sent to The Associated Press. “We believed it would be best for both of us to take this step now.”
“I wish Irina the greatest happiness,” the 29-year-old said.
Rumours in Spain have it that the former Manchester United forward is now in a relationship with 22-year-old RMTV journalist Villalon, who was in Zurich to cover the Ballon d’Or. Villalon posted a picture with Cristiano after the ceremony last week.
