In other matches at the round of 16, Netherlands came from behind to beat Mexico 2-1, Brazil defeated Chile on penalties, Colombia beat Uruguay, ten-man Costa Rica beat Greece on penalties, Belgium defeated the USA and Angel Di Maria scored in the nick of time to help Argentina advance to the quarter finals at the expense of Switzerland.
