The newly appointed Acting Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Solomon Arase, has held a meeting with President Goodluck Jonathan at the Presidential Villa on Thursday.
The Acting Police Chief told State House Correspondents after the meeting that he came to brief the President on police preparation for the states where the Independent National Electoral Commission will be holding rerun elections.
He said the police had started “massive deployment of men and materials in the affected states and assured of adequate security in the states.
This meeting is the first since Mr Arase formally took over from Mr. Suleiman Abba, who is now retired.
