Nigerian Military repels attack by Boko Haram on Gombe
The Defence Headquarters has confirmed repelling an attack by Boko Haram insurgents on Gombe State, North East Nigeria. Members of the deadly sect had attacked a security checkpoint at the outskirts of the city, before proceeding to attack an Army barracks nearby.
Spokesman for the Police in Gombe State, Fwaji Atajiri, discloded to Channels Television that the militants threw grenade into the Army facility, which exploded and set off an inferno, but no casualty figure was reported.
