Hillary Clinton has declared her interest to run for the U.S. presidency, vowing to fight for a level playing field for those recovering from tough economic times. Clinton, who begins the 2016 presidential race as a commanding Democratic front runner, announced her interest with a video posted on her new website on Sunday in which she said the economic deck was still stacked for those at the top.

Lagos 2015: Agbaje, Ambode sign peace pact
The two major candidates for the 2015 Lagos State governorship election: Akinwunmi Ambode of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Jimi Agbaje of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); signed a peace pact on Monday pledging their commitment to non-violence before, during and after the elections.
US and British govts condemn postponement of Nigeria's election
The announcement by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of a six-week postponement of Nigeria's general elections on security grounds has received condemnation from the international community. According to the United States Secretary of State, John Kerry, it is wrong to use security as an excuse to shift the election date. The US diplomat noted that the the eyes of the international community will be fixed on Nigeria as the nation prepares to go to the polls on the new date announced by INEC. He further stated that “The United States underscores the importance of ensuring that there are no further delays.

US considers placing North Korea back on terror blacklist
The Government of the United States is currently considering placing North Korea back on the list of state sponsors of terrorism. This is coming days after Pyongyang allegedly masterminded the colossal computer hacking on Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Although President Obama has said he does not consider the cyber attack an act of war, he has promised to “respond proportionally” to it. The US President noted that "We cannot have a society in which some dictator someplace can start imposing censorship here in the United States."

U.S. Freezes over $458 million Abacha Loot
The United States Department of Justice today revealed that the US has frozen more than $458 million hidden in bank accounts in the Channel Islands and France by former military dictator, Gen. Sani Abacha who served as Nigeria's Head of State from 1993 till his demise in 1998.
