The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, has been declared the winner of the April 11 election. Mr Ambode polled 811,994 votes, with the runner-up and the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Jimi Agbaje, polling 659,788 votes.

The Peoples Democratic Presidential Campaign Organisation, PDPPCO said yesterday that President Goodluck Jonathan was still committed to conducting free, fair and credible election today. According to PDP, the opposition should count itself lucky that President Jonathan did not reject the outcome of March 28 presidential election and refused to go to court and challenge the results.

PDP accuse APC of plans to rig Lagos elections
The Peoples Democratic Party has raised the alarm that the All Progressives Congress is planning to rig Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections in Lagos State. The party also claimed that a support group of Governor Babatunde Fashola, Lovers of Raji Fashola, had thrown its weight behind the PDP governorship candidate, Mr. Olujimi Agbaje.

Jonathan and Sambo have failed to make their academic qualification relevant - Fashola
The Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, has said that President Goodluck Jonathan and his Deputy, Namadi Sambo have failed to make their high academic qualifications reflect in the discharge of their duties. Speaking at the All Progressives Congress campaign rally in Ikorodu on Saturday, Fashola stressed that “we need someone who could address our challenges.”

Reno Omokri, Obanikoro react to Fashola's comments about Agbaje's age
A presidential aide, Reno Omokri, has reacted to recent comments by the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, that the Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Lagos, Jimi Agbaje is too old to govern the sate. He apparently accused the APC governor of hypocrisy considering that the party has someone older that Agbaje as its presidential candidate.

Lagos 2015: PDP picks Abdulkareem as Agbaje's running mate
The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has finally announced Alhaja Safurat Olayinka Abdulkareem as running mate to its governorship flagbearer, Jimi Agbaje. Abdulkareem is a trained teacher and an accountant. She holds an MBA and is married to a retired Air Force officer. This is the second time she has emerged as running mate for the Lagos PDP. She was previously picked in 2003 as running mate to the late Funsho Williams.
