Buhari, APC in search for running mate


Following his landslide victory at the recently conducted APC Presidential primaries in Lagos, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is now in serious talks and consultation with the party on a possible candidate to fill the Vice Presidential slot should he emerge the country's president in 2015.

I'm Nigeria's best leader - Jonathan replies Obasanjo


President Goodluck Jonathan has dismissed recent comments by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, rating his administration poorly. He argued that no Nigerian leader since independence in 1960 can equal the achievements he has made in only four years.

Chaos at the National Assembly as police fire tear gas at lawmakers


Drama unfolded at the National Assembly complex on Thursday morning as police officers engaged in thorough screening of lawmakers and denied some of them entry into the premises. Many of the lawmakers had to climb the entrance gate in order to gain access to the legislative chambers.

Boko Haram insurgency: FG dismiss Shettima's claims 

The Federal Government has dismissed comments credited to the Governor of Borno State, Kashim Shettima, that the Boko Haram insurgents are better armed and better motivated than the Nigerian Army. Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupke addressed newsmen on Tuesday insisting that the Federal Government is winning the war on terrorrism.
